The vast majority of Americans will be watching the Super Bowl tonight. Fans will wear jerseys and throw around the football and participate in The Fan Experience in downtown Indy. However, the true Super Bowl experience can only be done on the field.

The church is excited when churchgoers show up to God's House. God is excited when churchgoers show up to His House. But, many of us are "pew potatoes" and do not do ministry outside the church. It's time for the church to get out of the pews and make their ministry count. If you want significance and true success in life, you have to get out of the seat and make things happen to turn eyes to the Cause of Christ.

If you read the Book of Acts, you will find out about some people that turned the world upside down. There had to be an "in-filling" before there can be an "out-going". You have to wait for the annointing and the empowerment from God first. It's "active waiting". We have to understand that God sometimes wants us to be equipped before we go out and be part of ministry. But, we have to seek the annointing before we perform the ministry. Only ministry done with the annointing of God can have a lasting impact.

In Acts, they ministered on a supernatural level. God did extraordinary miracles through Paul. God wants us to go beyond the one-time experience. It's by the spirit of God.

They experienced an extraordinary commitment. Are we committed to excellence? In Acts, they were one heart and one mind. Even their possessions were not theirs, they believed. At most levels, unity will trump talent. The Bible shows so many cases where unity wins out over talent. This is why our churches need to unify to bring so many to Christ.

The church experience growth. God wants growth. You can argue about it or rationalize it, but, in the end, God wants the church and wants us to grow. You are either growing or declining. The early church had to add ministers to attend to the needs of the growth. Do you realize that everyone who comes to church on Sundays is a minister? You are expected to be a minister. It is spiritual reproduction. If you are feeding the hungry, teach someone else to do the same thing. Ninety-nine percent of ministry is done outside the walls of the church.

No one is ever a champion by accident. It comes from unity, commitment and hard work. We need to have one heartbeat and a unified vision on God.

God's desire is for this church to become an extraordinary church. Are we making progress?
