Back when the Bruney family took the ZZ Top van to the Knoxville World's Fair in 1982, they went camping in their van and did it fairly primitively. Today, people require massive amounts of comfort to go camping. It's called glamping: glamour camping.

The people of Israel wandered around, glamping with their manna gifted to them from heaven. They complained about it, but God took care of them and provided for them everyday. As soon as they entered the Promised Land, however, God changed everything. He stopped the manna as soon as they entered, taking away their comfort.

God didn't create us just to survive. He wants us to thrive! He's given us spiritual manna to keep us afloat when we are baby Christians. We haven't learned about discipleship, witnessing to others, etc. We aren't ready for that right away and God knows that. God wants us to grow and become that thriving Christian, not to just remain as a surviving Christian.

When the manna stopped, the people of Israel now needed to begin to sow and harvest for themselves. Christians who are no longer baby Christians now come to church on Sunday to bring their spirit to the table. At Gilgal, the Lord rolled away all of the disgrace, allowing the people of Israel to leave that behind.

Do we want to live the rest of our lives being spoon fed or are we willing to have our disgrace rolled away and live the life that God has desired for us?
