We need to be ruined for the ordinary. God wants to take us beyond the ordinary and to the extraordinary. One of the ways to do this is to break agreements. Many times we have agreed with lies. There are times when people have told us how we are and we internalize that, thus agree with it. This holds us back.

We were at a camp this past week for middle and high school students. We witnessed so many young people who were suffering through many issues: drugs, mental issues, inner demons, family issues, cutting, pornography, among others. What we learned is that kids--all kids--are hungry for God. They are genuine in their belief and they need to cling to God.

We interviewed kids after the fact. So many said "God is rocking my world!" These kids were being messed up for God. It was real, it was non-manufactured. The students were lining up 15 minutes early and singing choruses and 'drunk' under the Holy Spirit at future events. The kids declared that their area was Holy Ground.

So, what is wrong with us here? It comes down to one thing: we're not hungry enough.

God wants zipline spirituality. A zipline is cable that takes you from a tall hill to a lake on a steel thread for a short time. You have to run up, jump, hold on and experience the thrill of being held up high above the ground. Those who do it are excited and high-five each other at the end. Others would get close to the leap, then walk away. Still others will let go after a short ride, taking a big fall to some pain of hitting the lake from high above. And even some others don't even climb the hill. There are many people who aren't hungry enough to just go for a leap of faith and experience Him in His Full Glory. We aren't willing to lay it all on the line for Him and give up control. God will take us for the ride of our lives, but we need to give Him the steering wheel. When we do that, there is such a joy that can't be explained. Those who went on the zipline knew more and had different feelings than those who didn't. How can you experience that without making the leap? You can't.
