God wants us to live up to our full potential, which means stretching ourselves to do more. Call out to Him: "God, we desire growth! We want more! We want to see you move our church body! We want more salvations! We want more people in the Kingdom!" The bottom line is prayer should pop you right out of bed every morning, breeding vigor and excitement in you.

So, how do we become effective at prayer? If you want answered prayer...

1. You have to need God. Every miracle begins with a problem. You may actually want to pray for a problem! Sometimes we are put in difficult situations for a reason. You can't put limitations on the possibilities of God.

2. You have to listen to God. When God calls you to do something unusual, He will prepare you and He will give you protection.

3. You have to obey God. Spiritual success is a by-product of obedience. If you want to have a good relationship with God, simply do what he says. Do you follow orders right away or do you weigh your options first? It's pray and obey, not pray then weigh. We have no business calling on God when we are walking in absolute disobedience with Him.

4. You have to praise God. He wants praise because he deserves it.

5. You have to trust God. You just have to trust that the Lord is in total control. Once you submit to that...

6. You have to call to God. God answers prayers of those who need Him, listen to Him, obey Him, praise Him and trust in Him!
