Then, someone pops the question out there: What are you hungry for? Then the fight begins. When the dust finally settles, most American will choose the quickest and cheapest option, known as fast food. So, what are you hungry for? We're not talking nutrition. We're talking in your spirit. Are we going for something quick, cheap and easy? The things that God wants for us do not come cheap and quick. You can't throw His word in a microwave. Our spiritual diet is so deprived that we don't even know how to hunger after the right things. Don't you long to have something deeper than what you're experiencing now? Those things don't happen without paying the price. People want a spiritual buffet for the price of a spiritual snack. God wants you to have more, but He won't just gift it to you. You have to go after it. Blessed are those who hunger and thurst for righteousness for they will be filled. Many of us try to fill ourselves with the wrong things. Men and their toys, for example, are a way for them to divert their hunger. When we think that a toy will satisfy us, it's a diversion. Think about the time you spend with your toys and the time you spend with God. Which is more? Men also try to fill the void with accomplishment and approval. Guys want approval from so many people, yet the approval eventually wears off. Getting approval from man will not fulfill us. If you don't have a deep relationship with God, how can you have one with anyone else? The Bible is a manual of how to deal with other people. You can't get any closer to fulfillment than through the Word of God. We have to hunger for His Bread and develop a spiritual appetite. Read. Listen. Watch. Saturate your life with Him. Get around people who are more spiritually-filled than you are. When you get around those folks, something in you gets activated. The associations that we have bring things out in us that are activated. If they are negative associations, expect to have something negative activated within you. If they are positive associations, expect to have something positive activated within you. Learn how to praise and worship. Begin to speak hunger into existance. God, I believe that you are going to make me spiritually hungry. Ask Him and speak it into existance. You need to have a longing to be closer to God in order to have a longing to be closer to God. Pray and expect. The Good News won't just affect who you might perceive as superchristians. The Bible says that all have the ability to have dreams & visions and be able to make those into reality. We all have that power as Children of God. Take the opportunity to take time and experience God. Take advantage of them. Look for them. Stretch your horizons. Get healthy in the spirit with others. Bring others in to what you're experiencing. When all you've had to experience is plain, borning spirit food, you begin to hunger for more. You'll want to experience more of what God wants to give you. So, what are you hungry for?
