(September 20, 2009) In a spiritual sense, we are in a spiritual drought and a spiritual famine. We get fired up, then we lose the fire, then we get fired up, then we lose the fire. Sometimes we look for just a taste of the Glory of God, but we don't hunger for more. How many times have we had the crocodile tears on Sunday, but we do the same things again on Monday? What we need to do is have a spiritual rain of God to experience the reign of God. God cares about every aspect of your life. He wants to see growth in every area. "And Elijah said to Ahab, 'Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.' So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. 'Go and look toward the sea,' he told his servant. And he went up and looked. 'There is nothing there,' he said. Seven times Elijah said, 'Go back.' The seventh time the servant reported, 'A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea.' So Elijah said, 'Go and tell Ahab, Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.' Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. The power of the Lord came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel." You have to know in your knower. You have to begin to pray for what is coming when you don't see it. You have to begin to call things forth when it appears as though things are going that way. You have to birth it into existence. It's about ready to begin. It will grow. It will take off. You have to send out a search party and keep communication with them to look for that sign, but don't give up. It may take 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 times before you see it happen. It may take more. God will be faithful. God honors commitment. When we see a little thing, sometimes we quit because we believe that that big thing didn't come. Understand that that is just the beginning! Don't quit!
