God's Amazing Grace

(November 30, 2008)
Have you ever wondered how God could ever love you? I mean, with all of the silly, stupid, selfish, scathing and sarcastic things that we've done in our lives, wouldn't one feel that they don't deserve love from Our Creator? If this fits you (and it pretty much does for everyone), then you need to understand the power of God's Amazing Grace. Is Grace really enough to get us to Heaven? Isn't there something else we must do?

Grace takes all of us off of the performance roller coaster. It takes us off of the system of trying to impress or trying to gain approval of those around us. Grace reverses that. God allows you to perform to your fullest potential because he gives us Grace. See, it's satan that puts up so many arguments and obstacles in our lives because he realizes that he will be defeated if we just knew the truth that we are all saints through Christ Jesus. Satan does everything in his power to distract us and take our attention off of God, which then affects our personal and spiritual goals.

What's simply shocking is how many Christians don't believe in divine healings, but how can one not? Are they arguing for the right to be sick? How self-righteous and selfish is that! The devil is a master strategist and works to convince us that we aren't worthy and that we deserve less.

If we know unconditional love, how much more does God know unconditional Grace? When we receive Jesus Christ, we gain all of the benefits of being a saved soul. Grace is God's undeserved favor. If His Grace is dependent on our works, we wouldn't need Jesus and none of us could be saved. Grace has already come in the form of Jesus.

So, why did God send us the Ten Commandments then? The Ten Commandments show us that we need Grace. How would we ever know that we sinned or that we need Jesus without these Commandments? How would you know that you were speeding without a posted limit? When you realize that perfection is the standard that God has for each and every one of us to get to Heaven, you'll realize just how much we need Jesus and the Grace of God.

The receiving of the Grace of God is a choice and the Holiness of God is the side effect.

Isn't it tragic when we hear of an infant that never grows, then dies before it's first birthday? Isn't it just as tragic when a person chooses to stay a spiritual infant for their entire lives when they could have taken God up on His offer to receive His Grace? Understand that you can never be good enough to pay God back for His Grace.

What does this mean? None of us know anyone who received the Grace of God and didn't mess up again later. That's impossible. The Good News is that the Grace of God will clean up that mess as long as you receive His Grace.
