Even though we keep hearing that this is going to be a rough year, we can choose whether or not to believe that. God's desire is that we have increase in every aspect of our lives. Over and over the Bible says "increase". God's way is always increase. But, many times Christians miss this. The church has welcomed and promoted being poor. Many have actually fought for the right to be in poverty. This is not God's way.

If we walk in God's way, we'll increase prosperity and abundance in our lives. What is prosperity and abundance? It starts with who you work for. There is a fear and anxiety among those who work for GM, AIG or Freddy Mac. But, if we understand that Jesus is our employer, we will lose the fear and anxiety and replace it with prosperity and abundance. Prosperity and abundance is having enough of God's resources and provision to accomplish His vision for your life. God is for you, then he's with you, then he's in you. It makes God happy when you prosper. God promises to prosper His people when they give of themselves. The church also prospers when you give. It's the Father's good pleasure to see you prosper. Seeking the Kingdom will lead to prosperity. God will give us everything we need. God has empowered us with the tools to acquire wealth, prosperity and abundance. God gives us wisdom and knowledge to be creative in finding ways to obtain prosperity. God will provide the seed. Prosperous people see everything as seed, while the rest of the population see everything as food.\

Here are 10 misconceptions/lies that satan tries to feed us about money:

1. Money is not important.
2. Money is evil.
3. Money can't hurt you.
4. Money guarantees happiness.
5. God's people are destined to be in poverty.
6. God's pleased with those who are in poverty.
7. You cannot change your financial future.
8. God doesn't care about the consistency of your giving.
9. Money is not to be taught in church.
10. Don't expect something back for your giving.

You know, God could do it all for us, but what would we learn? What sense of accomplishment would you have? Life is difficult, it is a struggle. However, it is up to you to decide if you are going to wallow in self-pity or if you are going to enjoy the journey and strive for a life full of prosperity & abundance!
